In two days November 15-16, 2022 in Hanoi, Vietnam Center for Economic and Strategic Studies organized a training course on “Academic Integrity and Basic Research Writing Skills”. This is the second training course, following the first course with the topic “Scientific Methodology and Research Ethics“.

Participating in the training course were representatives of organizations: Oxfam in Vietnam; Center for Development and Integration (CDI); Center for Education Promotion and Empowerment of Women (CEPEW); Center for Sustainable Development of Ethnic Minority Communities (SUDECOM); Social Work and Community Development Consulting Research Center (SDRC); Quality of Life Improvement Center (LIFE); Center for Conservation and Development of Water Resources (WARECOD); Center for Gender, Family and Environment in Development (CGFED); Center for Gender, Family and Community Development (GFCD) and Institute for Policy Studies and Media Development (IPS).

The lecturer of the training course is Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Duc Thanh, Director of the Vietnam Center for Economic and Strategic Studies (VESS).

At this training course, participants learn about the regulations and standards to self-regulate behavior, voluntarily adjust the conduct of the researcher to ensure the integrity of the research product. Attendees were also instructed on ways to prevent plagiarism to ensure integrity and protect ethical values about research; learn about research style and presentation of citations. Concurrently, the training focused on strengthening writing skills to help communicate research content clearly and effectively. Partners receive instruction, practice and analysis of their writing on the second day of the training. In addition, the training course is also a place to share, learn and solve common research problems in the process of working and scientific research among project partners.
