During 2 days August 11-12, 2023 at Ben Tre Riverside Resort, the Vietnam Center for Economic and Strategic Studies (VESS), the coordinating organization of VATJ organized a training program with the topic "Does tobacco tax reform help improve household welfare in Vietnam?". The training program is an activity within the framework of a research project on tobacco tax which was implemented by VATJ members.

In 2 days from July 12-13, 2023 at Hai Tien Resort Thanh Hoa, Vietnam Center for Economic and Strategic Studies (VESS), a member of the Vietnam Alliance for Tax Justice (VATJ) organized a training course with the content “Does tobacco tax reform help improve household welfare in Vietnam?”. The training is part of a research project on tobacco tax jointly conducted by members of the Vietnam Alliance for Tax Justice.

From June 19-30, the Survey Team of the Budget Transparency Alliance (BTAP), consisting of the Vietnam Center for Economic and Strategic Studies (VESS) and the Center for Development and Integration (CDI), conducted a working visit to the provinces of Ba Ria - Vung Tau and Dien Bien. The field survey is part of an action research project aimed at enhancing public participation in transparent explanations of budget planning and utilization. The project is jointly implemented by VESS, CDI, and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Vietnam.
